Summary

There are! for someone in the last phase of life and their loved ones. You give the guests attention and you support the nurse with physical care.

Detailed description

The hospice is a house where volunteers provide care to seriously ill people in the last phase of life, when a cure is no longer possible. Because it is not always possible to provide sufficient care at home in the last phase of life, it is possible to continue the care in the hospice house with the help of volunteers, family and prof. .

What are you going to do?

There are! for someone in the last phase of life and their loved ones. You give the guests attention and you support the nurse with physical care. You work together with another volunteer. Sometimes you provide breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Who are we looking for?

Listening, being empathetic, wanting to learn, being there for fellow human beings in the last phase of life and their loved ones. We have a preference for people with a care background, but it is not necessary. Check out the volunteer profile on the hospice website for more details. Good command of the Dutch language.

What do we have to offer you?

We offer training in the form of basic training, intervision and regular theme meetings and courses to all our volunteers.

What makes the work worthwhile?

There are! for someone in the last phase of life and their loved ones.

About Hospice wageningen renkum

Hospice Wageningen-Renkum was founded in 2010 and is small in design. Because of this small scale we can best approach a homely atmosphere
In the common living room with open kitchen there is enough space for everyone who wants to join.
Those in need of privacy can retreat to the quiet room. Here is also an extensive library and the possibility to listen to music.

Family and friends are very welcome. If desired, we involve them in the care, of course in careful consultation with our guest and the nursing staff. There is also a listening ear for family and friends if they need it.
For a small fee, it is always possible for family or friends to eat with them or stay the night with their loved ones.

Room with garden
Each guest has their own room, equipped with wide French doors to the garden. The rooms are comfortably furnished and, of course, guests can bring their precious items from home to create their own personal atmosphere.

Hospice location
The hospice is located in the round bend of the Irenestraat in Wageningen. The entrance to the hospice is located between house numbers 48 and 50.

Click here for a route map and the location of the hospice. (On the map that appears you will see Irenestraat 48 indicated. When you visit us, it is best to keep this address. You will see the hospice in the bend of this street.)
