Job description:
Lending bicycles to refugees staying on the asylum boat in the harbor canal (Asylum Seekers Center Dependance) in Wageningen. This makes it easier for residents to do their shopping. They receive food allowance for breakfast and lunch. The boat is located at a distance from shops in the city. It is very nice for the refugees if they can borrow a bicycle. If you like, you can also help with minor repairs to the bicycles. This is not mandatory!
Job requirements:
Patience and ability to deal with foreign languages. Multiple languages are useful but not necessary. You do not need to have a perfect command of the Dutch language. Only English-speaking volunteers are also welcome.
What do you have to offer the volunteer?:
You will receive an explanation of our working method from us and you can try it out a few times.
What makes the work worthwhile?:
It is educational and fun to get to know each other's culture. Newcomers are happy if they can cycle.
