SummaryAs a desk employee you man the reception of the Council for Refugees at the AZC.
Refugees live at the AZC POL for weeks/months until they move to Arnhem where their procedure begins, ie the hearing with the Immigration and Naturalization Service.
What are you going to do?
The Council for Refugees is an independent advocacy organization that stands up for the interests of people who request asylum in the Netherlands. The Council for Refugees provides information about the procedure and tries to support people with proper preparation.
In the morning, the desk employee informs the new residents about the appointment with the Council for Refugees and provides them with information material. During the day they answer questions from residents who come to the desk, and receive substantive guidance. There are also administrative tasks, such as completing the information material and answering the telephone.
What do we ask?
We are looking for someone with an open and friendly appearance, stress resistant and with good communication skills. Thinking and working level at least MBO. It is volunteer work that involves dealing with many different people from many different cultures. People usually don't speak Dutch and often no English, so the ability to improvise is important.
