Volunteer with hero status wanted!

Yes, she takes a lot of getting used to. She has lived here for a year now, but 'it's pretty quiet here', she says. That is why this 82-year-old lady would like a buddy. Just for fun and for a cup of coffee on the market. She doesn't go out that often anymore, she thinks the world has changed so much. She recently started taking anti-depressants against the 'tensions', she says softly. She also prefers not to watch the news anymore. It's quiet for a while. If I'm looking for a nice buddy for you, I need to know what you like, what your interests are. Sport, she calls immediately. She used to be in gymnastics and her sons played soccer for years. She always enjoyed standing next to the field, even worked behind the bar in the canteen for a number of years. Before corona, she went to the gym every week with a friend. But not anymore. And she also likes to watch sports. Did you see cycling yesterday with Mathieu van der Poel? Yes of course, she shouts, she almost had a heart attack when he fell. It was so exciting but he won, what a hero. She smiles. Then it's quiet again, I hear her Frisian clock ticking softly against the spotless white painted wall. And I think: it's nice to have some sport, even if you're alone at home on the couch.
