Detailed description

Would you like to work one-on-one with someone on a learning question? Then this is for you! People come to the consultation hours in the field of language, arithmetic or digital skills with very diverse questions. Different according to level, content and duration. They are often linked to a volunteer for guidance. We make the best matches with a large group of different volunteers.


Job description:

Every week you work for 1 to 1.5 hours with someone on your own learning question. You meet in the bblthk. You use material that matches the learning demand. Depending on the learning demand, you guide someone for a number of weeks, usually up to a year. You will receive instruction from the language house teacher on how and with what you and the student can get started. You are committed to that area with which you have the greatest affinity. This can be language or arithmetic or digital skills (basic skills).

Job requirements:

- You have a good command of the Dutch language, and / or you have math skills, and / or you have digital skills. - You have an interested and inviting attitude towards the person who guides you: “Learning is fun”. - You have a lot of patience with and show confidence in the learning ability of the student. - You can connect to the resident's request - You have an open and neutral attitude - You have affinity with the broad target group of NT1 (Dutch as a first language) or NT2 (Dutch as a second language) - You keep your knowledge up to date, also on your own initiative - You participate in the basic training, consisting of four half-days - Before you get started, you request a Certificate of Good Conduct in consultation with the bblthk. the bblthk pays. We get very different people with very different questions who may need a very diverse commitment; short or long term, individually or in a group. This also requires a diversity of volunteers. What is your expertise? What are you interested in? What kind of questions would you like to work on?

What do you have to offer the volunteer ?:

- A basic training of 4 meetings - Information or training meetings (on an irregular basis) appropriate to the specific task you take on - Professional guidance and consultation - You receive a membership of the bblthk and an annual present.

What makes the work worthwhile ?:

To see how people gain more self-confidence by better mastering basic skills, and how they can find their way in life more independently.

Working time:

Working hours are determined in consultation between the volunteer, the student and the language house teacher. usually once a week.
