Hostess/host Tuesday or Wednesday afternoon

In consultation you will be scheduled for one afternoon per week or possibly every 2 weeks. Markt 17 is an accessible meeting place. A place where you can meet other people and/or eat together. A place where people listen and where attention, respect and hospitality are central.

What are you going to do?

Receiving visitors and making contact with them. Have a chat and/or offer a listening ear. Offer coffee or tea. Maintain a good atmosphere (house rules) in which every visitor feels comfortable and safe. Keeping the visitors' area tidy and carrying out all the necessary practical work.

Who are we looking for?

You work according to the vision of Markt 17: an open and helpful attitude towards others. No condemnation of the visitor's difference. Everyone is allowed to be as they are. For this position it is important that you have a good command of the Dutch language. Knowledge of English or other languages is also welcome for any foreign-speaking visitors.

What do we have to offer you?:

Presentation courses are offered as equipment. The coordinator is the point of contact for questions and offers coaching/guidance. Both in the corridors and by appointment. The coordinator also points out various relevant courses and training that are organized locally. Volunteer meetings are occasionally organized. Here you meet fellow volunteers and discuss the work together. Collective accident and damage insurance has been arranged for volunteers by the municipality of Wageningen.

What makes the work worth it?

Our volunteers work in a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere. Volunteers meet people they would normally not encounter. This gives you the opportunity to broaden your social network. Offering hospitality and a listening ear is not a one-way street: You often receive attention and interest in return from visitors.
