As a vegetable garden volunteer, you perform all common vegetable garden tasks together with the vegetable garden coordinator.
A vegetable garden is located in the vicinity of the Odensehuis. It is situated at Hesselink van Suchtelenweg 4, behind the Laboratory for Microbiology, close to Generaal Foulkesweg. The plots were laid out 100 years ago by Professor Söhngen. He was a professor of microbiology, and he and his successors conducted scientific experiments there for decades. Volunteers and participants of the Odensehuis enjoy working in the vegetable garden.
What are you going to do?
As a vegetable garden volunteer, you perform all common vegetable garden tasks together with other volunteers, and sometimes with a participant, such as digging, fertilizing, sowing, planting, weeding, hoeing, harvesting, etc. Your own initiatives that can contribute to a meaningful day for you or the people you work with are welcome!
Who are we looking for?
You are not afraid of getting your hands dirty. You are able to work collaboratively, but can work quite independently after explanation/instruction from the vegetable garden coordinator, and sometimes explain things to others as well. You have a supportive attitude and a flexible mindset.
What do we offer?
A beautiful outdoor workplace where you have the space to carry out the work in the vegetable garden together with the team of volunteers.
What makes the work worthwhile?
You are in contact with a diverse range of people and have special encounters as a result. You contribute to the well-being of the participants of the Odensehuis. A few individuals are able to help out in the home. Most participants enjoy the harvest from the vegetable garden in the form of flowers, vegetables, and fruit.
