Summary
Divide fruits and vegetables over packagesDetailed description
At Operation Food Freedom, people can order a package of fruits and vegetables from Dutch farmers. The farmers get a fair price and can use the money for example to invest in sustainable practices. Each Wednesday a van arrives with crates full of vegetables and fruits. These products need to be divided over the separate crates/ boxes, so that each box has the right amount of fuit and vegetables. For this task we are looking for volunteers that are willing to commit for a longer time period. The sorting of packages usually takes place each Wednesday between 12:00 and 14:00, but it is possible to start later (as long as all packages are sorted before 17:00). Often there are some fruit/ vegetable leftovers after the sorting shift. Feel free to take some from that.
About Operation Food Freedom Wageningen
People order a package of fresh fruit and vegetables from farmers in the Netherlands who receive a fair price and can thus work towards sustainability. They can pick up this package every Wednesday at the Superette in Wageningen.
Volunteers are active to ensure this runs smoothly. This looks like this:
Wednesday morning (between 9-11): Someone waits in the Superette for the van that will bring the crates of fruit and vegetables and takes them inside.
Wednesday afternoon (12:00-14:00): A group of volunteers divides the vegetables and fruit over the number of packages ordered.
Wednesday afternoon/evening (5:00 PM - 7:15 PM): Customers come to pick up their package. A list is used to keep track of who has picked up the package.
