Does becoming a trainer and/or facilitator for a group of relatives of people with Parkinson's (or Parkinsonism) appeal to you?

Does becoming a trainer and/or facilitator for a group of relatives of people with Parkinson's (or Parkinsonism) appeal to you? We are looking for new trainers and facilitators for various workshops, theme groups, and peer supervision groups. Each group is facilitated by two trainers/facilitators. Together, you ensure safe, expert, and relatable guidance for the group. With your commitment, we can support and empower even more relatives in their important role.

What do we offer for loved ones?

The Parkinson Academy has an extensive range of offerings for loved ones:

  • Half-day workshops
  • Parkinson's Theme Group and Loved Ones (5 meetings)
  • Peer supervision for loved ones

What's in it for you?

You are not only doing something for someone else, which naturally gives a lot of satisfaction. You also meet new people, learn from others, and develop new skills.

Who are we looking for?

We expect you to have an affinity with Parkinson's (and Parkinsonism) and preferably some experience working with groups. You are a good listener and able to facilitate discussions. You take the initiative to organize workshops, thematic groups, or peer supervision groups. You are willing to prepare and deliver them together with another trainer/facilitator.

A peer supervision group has one facilitator. If you wish to facilitate peer supervision groups, it is necessary that you have experience in facilitating peer supervision meetings.

What do we offer?

At the Parkinson Association, we answer your questions and think along with you. We announce the meetings on our website and recruit participants. You will receive the materials used in the workshop, theme group, or peer supervision group. A trainer's manual is available for the workshop and the theme group. There is an annual meeting day for all trainers and facilitators. During this day, you have the opportunity to share experiences with other trainers.
