As a language buddy, you provide support with learning the Dutch language. For example, you help with improving speaking skills or with reading and writing.
The Education department is part of Zin! day activities and is part of Pro Persona. Pro Persona is an institution for specialist mental health care.
At Education, clients can learn new things as well as refresh their knowledge and skills. Various courses and training sessions are offered, for example in the fields of cooking, language, public transport travel, and digital skills.
There are both individual and group training sessions.
Detailed job description
As a language buddy, you support our clients in learning the Dutch language, together with the professionals. For example, you help them improve their speaking skills or assist with reading and writing. The client's learning goals are central. Sometimes it involves basic Dutch, and you provide support in English.
We are looking for a volunteer who:
* is calm, friendly and patient
* has an open attitude and understanding for psychological vulnerability
You can communicate well and give clear explanations
enjoys making a positive contribution to the life of another.
