Mourning & Celebrating - We make space for grief. On the market square in Wageningen, to light a candle, write something, or tie a ribbon in a tree....
We are making space for grief in the heart of the city. A greenhouse in a public place, the market square in Wageningen. To give grief a place in social life and to make it open for discussion. A place to light a candle or write something. The last two weeks of December, because the month of December feels lonely for many people.
When?
From December 13 to December 27, 2026. Everyone is welcome in the greenhouse every day between 11:00 AM and 8:00 PM, including during the Christmas holidays.
Will you help?
We need volunteers to staff the greenhouse during opening hours and could really use your help! To offer a listening ear, answer questions, or just be there. We work with a minimum of 6 volunteers per day in 3 teams (11 - 14, 14 - 17, and 17 - 20). You can sign up for two shifts, but one shift is also great.
Prior to the opening, a kick-off meeting for volunteers will be organized. On this evening, we will share practical information and the schedule so that everyone can prepare properly. The date of this evening will be announced at a later time.
