Are you a good listener and not quick to judge? And would you like to mediate between people? Then this is for you!
It is regularly in the news: neighbors experiencing annoyances or arguments. Perhaps at such a moment you feel the urge to ask questions, are curious about the other side, or even want to mediate.
Then we have a unique opportunity for you! You can become a neighborhood mediator and, in doing so, dedicate yourself to the residents of Wageningen. As a neighborhood mediator, you mediate in a wide variety of situations: noise nuisance, garden problems, video doorbells, etc. Neighborhood mediation is varied, challenging, but above all, very fascinating volunteer work. As a neighborhood mediator, you guide neighbors, together with a colleague, in resolving their issues.
Of course, we won't just throw you in at the deep end. First, you will receive a two-day training course where you will receive tips and tricks for being a neighborhood mediator and practice role-playing. After that, the real work begins; you will head out with an (experienced) colleague. Because you work closely with your colleagues, we believe it is important that you get to know each other well; to this end, we organize peer supervision sessions and training.
So, are you easy to connect with and can you listen and observe well? And can you empathize with others and remain impartial? Then I would like to invite you for a cup of coffee and an introduction. Because our last male volunteer recently stopped, we are specifically looking for male volunteers.
