Every two weeks we organize a lunch for local residents for a small contribution, followed by coffee, tea and games. Older people in particular participate.
Are you a nice table lady/host? Do you enjoy connecting people? Would you like to offer a listening ear? And/or would you like to help practically with the registration lists, in the kitchen, with the groceries, setting the tables, clearing the tables, etc.?
In short; What quality/character trait do you use to make our neighborhood lunch a success?
For the mainly older, sometimes no longer mobile participants, the neighborhood lunch offers a great moment of meaning, because they can meet each other in an accessible way. This way they can help each other with things they have difficulty with, but above all exchange stories, have conversations and form or maintain friendships. As a volunteer you contribute to the well-being of the (older) residents of Wageningen.
