Do you want to help refugees on their way to learning Dutch? Then the Language Café is the place to contribute: informal, accessible, and varied.

Will you help teach refugees Dutch in an informal way?

Refugees who have been in the Netherlands for a short time or, conversely, for a longer period, live at the Bosrandweg Asylum Seekers' Centre. Everyone is welcome at the Language Café to learn the basics of the Dutch language or, for the more advanced learners, primarily to practice conversation. It covers practical topics such as introducing yourself, grocery shopping, clothing, family, and your body.

You do not need to be a Dutch teacher to become a volunteer. You attend each meeting with one or two other volunteers, where participants are divided into small groups. Working materials are available. Informal teaching to people from different cultures and at varying levels calls upon your flexibility and ability to improvise.

The lessons are on Tuesday and Thursday mornings, from 10:30 to 12:00.
