Animal caretaker and host or hostess

Volunteer at Stadsboerderij Wageningen. You help care for the animals, keep the site clean and tidy, and you are a friendly point of contact for visitors.

You volunteer 1 or 2 fixed days per month. For example, every first Sunday of the month. On your day, you are on site for the full day. A second volunteer will join you in the morning or in the afternoon.

What you will do

• Feed the animals, provide fresh water, and do daily care
• Clean and check animal enclosures
• Keep the grounds and public areas clean and tidy
• Welcome visitors and answer questions
• Keep the day running smoothly following our standard way of working
• Report any animal welfare concerns to the team

Who we are looking for

• You are calm, friendly, and clear when speaking with children and visitors
• You work neatly and you are physically able to do tasks such as lifting, sweeping, and cleaning
• You are reliable and you like having a fixed role
• Experience with animals is a plus, but not required
• You speak Dutch or English
• A VOG is required. Stadsboerderij will arrange this for you free of charge

Working hours and planning

• Saturday or Sunday
• You volunteer 1 or 2 fixed days per month
• You are on site from 09:00 to 16:30
• A second volunteer will join you in the morning or in the afternoon
• The schedule is fixed, so you always know where you stand
