As an ambassador for Talking Hands, you are the enthusiastic face who promotes our mission to support deaf and hard-of-hearing people in Uganda.
About Talking Hands Foundation
The Talking Hands Foundation is committed to supporting deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals in Uganda, with a strong focus on education and inclusion. Together with local partners such as New Hope for the Deaf, we increase our impact and work toward a society where deaf and hard-of-hearing people can fully participate.
Our projects focus on improving the position of deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals by supporting quality, inclusive education, offering vocational training in areas such as carpentry, tailoring, and crafts, and organizing awareness activities that promote understanding of deafness and inclusion within local communities.
What will you do?
As an ambassador, you will help recruit donors and raise awareness about the barriers faced by deaf and hard-of-hearing people in Uganda, as well as the importance of sign language and equal opportunities. You will primarily focus on promoting our sponsorship program and helping secure sustainable support for our projects.
Desired qualities
- Enthusiastic about inspiring others and sharing the story of Talking Hands
- Strong communication skills, both spoken and written
- Fluent in Dutch, preferably also in English
- Experience in fundraising or relationship management is a plus
Time commitment
The time investment is flexible and depends on your availability, averaging 2-4 hours per week. This may increase during campaigns and special events.
