Do you think it is important that asylum seekers are well prepared for their asylum procedure? Then come and provide them with information and personal guidance.

What are you going to do?

The Council for Refugees is an independent advocacy organization that defends the interests of people seeking asylum in the Netherlands.

Volunteers provide asylum seekers with information about the Dutch asylum procedure and Dutch policy to prepare asylum seekers as well as possible for their procedure. We explain the various organizations involved and we explain the steps in the procedure and Dutch policy. We assist asylum seekers in legal and social matters. We support people individually, so if desired we discuss their personal situation and reason for fleeing. In addition, we offer support if people want to have evidence brought over. We use an interpreter over the phone for most conversations.

What do we ask?

We are looking for involved people with a sober attitude, HBO thinking level, who are available at least 2 half days a week. Legal foreknowledge is not necessary! Dutch, English and preferably other languages.

What do we have to offer you?

Refugee Council East Netherlands offers professional guidance, an onboarding programme, a training offer, an expense allowance and an interesting workplace.

What makes the work worthwhile?:

You stand up for the rights of refugees. You help them build a new life in the Netherlands. The Council for Refugees stands for humanity and the right to live in safety.

Working hours:

On working days. At least two days a week.

half days are from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm or from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
