Summary

Did you participate in the introduction to connecting communication on November 12 or March 17? And do you want to learn more? Participate in the follow-up connecting communication.

Detailed description

Have you participated in a workshop Getting to Know Connecting Communication from the Volunteer Center? And do you want to learn more? Then join this follow-up.

As an employee (whether you are a professional or a volunteer) you want to connect with the resident. Often you succeed and sometimes not quite. Connecting communication can give you some extra ideas and tools to support you in this. You learn to make contact with what really matters to you and the other. This evening you will work on your own situation and you can practice right away.

During this short tasting of connecting communication you will become more aware of your judgments and how you can use them to your advantage. You will learn how to put something into words in a way that the other person can hear it and you will also learn to understand what may be underneath the other person's words. We will become more aware of different perspectives. Incidentally, it helps to first clarify what is touched in us so that we have a choice of what to do next: share that or listen to the other person first.

Marshall Rosenberg (1934-2015)

Marshall Rosenberg is an American psychologist and the founder of connecting communication. His ideas form the basis of this training. If we are clear that everything we do or say comes from a need - cooperation, support, being seen, proximity, safety or autonomy for example - and we start the conversation from there, something completely different can arise.

Connecting communication is about recognizing and acknowledging our needs and finding ways to fulfill them for both parties. Connecting communication is much more than a roadmap and is a way of looking at the world and living from there.

Curious? Welcome to join! The skills you learn in this training can certainly be applied privately!
