Do you support an inhabitant from an other cultural background? You would learn to better interpret cultural differences. Workshop is in Dutch.

Learn to better interpret cultural differences. You increase your insight into the origin of misunderstandings in intercultural communication. And how you can prevent them.

Yvonne van der Pol gives the training. She is a very experienced trainer in intercultural communication.

In the morning we work from your practice. Yvonne translates these practical experiences into constructive practice scenarios. Possible practice scenarios:

  • Connecting in the home situation (greeting, m/f, non-verbal communication);
  • Dealing with Dutch as a second language and interpreters;
  • Building a relationship (task and relationship-oriented communication);
  • Interpret a request for help correctly (direct and indirect communication);
  • Make appointments;
  • Limit the request for help;
  • Bridging different values.

In the practice scenarios, Yvonne works with a training actor.

The workshop provides a solid foundation for intercultural communication. Participants learn to better interpret cultural differences and increase their insight into the origin of misunderstandings in intercultural communication and how you can prevent them. Awareness and skills contribute to a more optimal care process.

At the end of the half-day workshop:

  • you have a clear idea of where misunderstandings in intercultural communication and dealing with diversity can arise;
  • when communicating with people from other cultural backgrounds, you adjust their communication method more adequately;
  • have you practiced with practical cases;
  • Do you have a personal action plan in your hands?
