Summary

Do you want to listen to what the other person really means and contribute in such a way that the other person experiences real support? Then get acquainted with connecting communication.

Detailed description

As an employee (whether you are a professional or a volunteer) you would like to connect with the resident. This often works and sometimes not completely. Connecting communication can give you some extra ideas and tools to support you in this. You learn to make contact with what really matters to you and the other person. This evening you will work on your own situation and you can practice immediately.

During this short tasting connecting communication you will become more aware of your judgments and how you can benefit from them. You learn how to express something in a way that the other person can hear and you also learn to understand what may be underneath the other person's words. We gain more awareness of different perspectives. By the way, it helps to first clarify what is being touched in us so that we can choose what we do next: share it or listen to the other person first.

Marshall Rosenberg (1934-2015)

Marshall Rosenberg is an American psychologist and the founder of connecting communication. His ideas underlie this training. If we are clear that everything we do or say stems from a need - collaboration, support, being seen, proximity, safety or autonomy, for example - and we start the conversation from there, something completely different can arise.

Connecting communication is about recognizing and acknowledging our needs and finding ways to fulfill them for both parties. Connecting communication is much more than a step-by-step plan and is a way of looking at the world and living from it.

Curious? Welcome to join! You can certainly apply the skills you gain in this training in your private life!
