Vacancy: volunteer coordinator Quadenoord estate

Landgoed Quadenoord-Boschbeek BV is a private estate in the municipality of Renkum. The estate has a size of 230 ha, of which approximately 1/3 ha consists of cultivated land and 2/3 of forest. The estate is centrally located in the Renkum stream valley and has the only remaining water mill in the South Veluwe. A (nature) campsite is located in the forest. The day-to-day management of the estate is the responsibility of a director-steward. A manager has been appointed for management, who forms the link between the management and the implementation. The manager is the daily point of contact on behalf of the estate.

A group of volunteers has been active on the estate since 2013, consisting of approximately 15 people. The group is mainly active on Tuesdays. Since 2020, a second group has been active on Mondays. The group is led by a (cooperating) foreman. The volunteers come together at the timber yard, to carry out different activities in different shifts.

The current coordinator has indicated that he will retire after 10 years. The estate is looking for a replacement.

Tasks

- Managing volunteers (Tuesday, Monday)

- Point of contact for the manager

- Provides work planning in consultation with the manager

- Carrying out work (or having it carried out).

- Coordinating work package volunteers

- Supervision of work (safety, care, social side)

- Contact with landscape management Gelderland

- Keeping track of work performed

- Management of the greenhouse (purchase tools and small materials)

Functional

- Cooperating foreman / woman

- Knowledge of the management practice of forest, nature and cultural history

- Coaching, encouraging and caring for the volunteers

- Keep track

- Organize annual excursion for the volunteers

- The expected time spent per week is 2 x 8 hours (Tuesday and Monday groups)

- Preference is given to a volunteer coordinator

In addition to guiding and supporting the team of volunteers, expansion of the group is desirable. In 2023 we want to work on setting up a water mill team to coordinate and communicate its public opening. We are also looking for a volunteer communications officer. There are still several development possibilities! The most important task is the coordination of the volunteers, but if you want to think along more broadly, that is welcome.
