Are you socially engaged, practically minded, and do you enjoy supporting others with their financial administration?

For the Home Administration Wageningen team, we are looking for an enthusiastic volunteer for meaningful work.

The Home Administration Volunteer

As a volunteer, you help people get their financial records in order and keep them that way. You visit participants at their homes, get to know each other, and build trust for pleasant contact and good cooperation. Together, you map out income and expenses, check what someone is entitled to, and create a clear household budget. This allows the participant to regain control of their own administration and finances. This provides peace of mind and clarity. Many participants feel helped quite quickly and are able to continue independently after a while.

What are you going to do?

    • Meet at the participant's home once a week or every two weeks
    • Building a good working relationship and making a plan together
    • Step-by-step, organize and maintain the (financial) administration
    • Strengthening the participant's self-reliance
    • Maintain contact with the coordinator and briefly record progress in the system

What do we ask?

    • Availability of approximately 2 hours per week for at least one year
    • Empathy, patience, and an open, listening attitude
    • Knowledge of or experience with (financial) administration is a plus.
    • Ability to work independently
    • Initiative, enthusiasm and a solution-oriented attitude
    • Women are explicitly invited to respond.

What do we offer?

    • Challenging and meaningful volunteer work
    • Flexible scheduling; you schedule appointments yourself with the participant.
    • Opportunities for professional development through the Humanitas Academy and team meetings
    • An annual appreciation outing with all volunteers of Thuisadministratie and the Humanitas Wageningen Financial Matters Walk-in Consultation.
    • An expense allowance for travel costs

About Humanitas Thuisadministratie

Vereniging Humanitas is a national volunteer organization. Our volunteers help people change their situation through their own efforts.

Home administration helps people regain control of their finances. Poor insight into administration often leads to other, larger problems. That is why it is good to help people so that they can manage their finances independently again.
