Summary

Do you enjoy providing educational activities, do you have some time available and would you like to contribute to a social organization?

Detailed description

Take action for the Red Cross

Do you like to provide educational activities, do you have some time available during the week and would you like to contribute to a social organization? Then we're looking for you!

The Red Cross education team is engaged in guest lectures, games and educational activities. We strive to increase respect, self-reliance and willingness to help among as many children and young people as possible.

We currently have room for guest teachers / game leaders who, together with other volunteers, provide guest lessons at schools for VO and MBO. We have developed the following teaching programs for these target groups:

  • Guest lesson “Hero of Humanity”: Do you help or don't you? Pupils/students bring a voice from the hand of videos with recognizable situations with their telephone. You not only inform, but guide the conversation and encourage participants to actively think about their role in various situations and the associated dilemmas.
  • “The Humanity Game”. The class plays against each other in three teams: who is best able to provide the most appropriate emergency aid with limited resources? Four major international disasters are discussed. The team that makes the best choices and gets the most knowledge questions right wins the game.

What are you going to do?

  • You provide at least 8 lessons and/or games per year in your region.
  • After following a number of training courses, you prepare lessons independently and provide them together with a fellow volunteer.

Who are you?

  • You enjoy being in front of a group (experience with teaching is an advantage).
  • You have an affinity with the target group (pupils/students aged 12-23).
  • You are regularly available during school hours.
  • You are digitally skilled; Online teaching materials are used in the lessons.
  • You subscribe to the seven principles of the Red Cross.

What can you expect from us?

To familiarize yourself with the teaching material and our ideas, you first follow a few online modules and one or more training courses at a location in the region. In addition to the content-related part, attention is also paid to didactics. Periodic regional meetings are organized where you can exchange experiences with fellow volunteers.
