Population Care Assistant (voluntary)

In the event of a disaster or crisis situation, the Red Cross Population Care team is ready to provide assistance to those affected. The Red Cross thus supports municipalities in their population care tasks. For example, the team can be deployed to evacuate and care for residents after a fire or flood or to care for people during a tragic event. You are their first point of contact, offering practical help and a listening ear. In addition, providing food, sanitary facilities and a place to sleep may also be part of your duties. What are you going to do?

• You guide those affected during an evacuation
• You set up reception locations
• You welcome those affected and offer them a listening ear. You promote the self-reliance of those affected
• You identify requests for help and find a suitable solution

Who are you?

• You are helpful and willing to roll up your sleeves
• You have social and communication skills, are stress-resistant and flexible.
• You are in good physical and mental condition
• You have your own transport to get to the location in your region in case of a call
• You have a first aid certificate or are willing to obtain one
• You endorse the 7 basic principles of the Red Cross

We offer you

An opportunity to really make a difference in an emergency. You will receive basic training and the opportunity to further develop yourself. You are insured through the Red Cross while performing your work. We also offer you a travel and expense allowance.
