Summary

You are the connecting link between the board, the location managers and volunteers of the locations.

Detailed description

As a senior coordinator at the Animal Food Bank Vallei & Veluwe, you have an overview of the distribution locations. You are the first point of contact for the location managers of all distribution locations assigned to you and make adjustments where necessary. Thanks to them, and because you visit the locations regularly, you know in general terms what is going on at all locations. Together with the location managers, you ensure that everything is arranged at the distribution points to ensure that the biweekly distributions run smoothly. For events and activities, you take care of all practical matters and organization, or delegate this to others.

You are the connecting link between the board, the location managers and volunteers of the locations. You will be supported by a coordinator and you will help him/her grow in his/her role.

What responsibilities do you have?

  • You are responsible for all distribution locations;
  • You are the point of contact for the location managers (and for some locations as a backup for the junior coordinator);
  • In consultation with the local team of volunteers, you support the locations in providing sufficient distribution resources;
  • You perform various services every week, together with the junior coordinator;
  • You are a true jack of all trades. In addition to the above-mentioned activities, you also maintain the central warehouse in Wageningen together with the junior coordinator. You also help with PR work such as handing out flyers. You collect large donations (together or alone), and every now and then you go to the Dierenlot Foundation;
  • At events you take care of the practical organization;
  • You are the connecting link between the board and the volunteers;
  • You conduct job interviews with potential new volunteers for the location of distribution points;
  • You guide the junior coordinator in carrying out and growing in his/her role;
  • Monitoring the agreed working methods and decisions, and providing feedback to the volunteers if this does not happen;
  • Identifying new developments or issues within the foundation and at the locations and taking action where necessary;
  • You are present as much as possible at meetings such as general meetings, location manager meetings and events.

We are looking for:

  • Someone who recognizes themselves in and acts according to our core values: Reliable, helpful and committed;
  • A connecting personality;
  • Someone with courage, who stands firm and dares to enter into discussions when necessary, both internally within our foundation and externally to our customers;
  • Someone with a heart for pet welfare;
  • Someone with flexible availability and employability (all in consultation);
  • Someone for a longer period of time (at least 6 months);
  • Someone with a lot of passion and 'hands-on' commitment .
  • Someone with the strength to convey the mission and vision of the foundation to the volunteers and our customers and donors;
  • Someone with a driver's license;
  • Someone with great solution-oriented skills.

What do we offer you?

  • A great and rewarding volunteer position at a great foundation with committed volunteers;
  • Annual outings, presents and meetings;
  • You can follow interesting courses and training for free through the Dierenlot academy and other volunteer organizations;
  • You are collectively insured through the municipality.

About Stichting Dierenvoedselbank Vallei & Veluwe

Animal Food Bank Vallei en Veluwe is a charity that has been advocating for people in that region since 2016 who, together with their pet(s), live below the poverty line and are therefore unable to fully feed and maintain their pet(s). A group that often lives in social isolation and for whom the pet is of great emotional value.

We provide additional pet food and pet supplies so that owners can keep and care for their pets responsibly. We also help our customers with advice, information and education, and we mediate where necessary.

With a helpful, reliable and committed team of volunteers, we work regionally from our distribution locations in Wageningen, Ede, Renkum, Rhenen and Veenendaal. This has prevented more than 500 farewells between owner and pet for financial reasons in recent years. Animal food bank Vallei en Veluwe is a non-profit organization, but it does have ANBI status.
