Together with a refugee who has difficulty learning the language, you will serve coffee at Group 9, a coffee morning for the elderly.

What are you going to do?

Together with a woman who is integrating and slowly learning the language, you will serve coffee at Group 9. This is a coffee morning for seniors at the primary school in Noordwest.

You're the bridge between the refugee and the organization. In the initial period, you'll build a relationship of trust together. Encouraging and motivating the refugee is crucial as a volunteer. You'll volunteer first for them and then together. By working together, the refugee learns Dutch in practice. And they get to know Wageningen organizations and Dutch culture. Gradually, you'll step back until the refugee can manage independently.

When

During school weeks on Wednesdays from 9:30 am to 11:45 am

Who are we looking for?

● You are creative in working with people who do not yet speak Dutch (well)

● You can follow the other person: you are patient, you sense the other person's pace and you deal with unexpected and unknown situations in a relaxed manner.

● You have respect for and can connect with the customs, attitudes and culture of others.

What do we have to offer you?

● You will be well trained and you can always contact the work supervisor and cultural connectors of the Refugee Council.

● You gain relevant work experience with refugees in a social organization.

Your travel and/or expenses will be reimbursed. You will be insured during working hours.
