Summary

Do you have a passion for co-creation with women? You organize activities together with women living at the AZC and in Wageningen. Interested? Then get in touch!

Detailed description

Together with women living at the AZC and women from Wageningen, you organize activities that are interesting for women. Co-creation is paramount here. Ideas that live among women are stimulated and the talents that women have deployed. Where possible you support these women and you are present during the activities. The aim is to create a connection between women at the asylum seekers' center and women in Wageningen. In addition, it is important for the women at the AZC to have enough to hand. You therefore also emphatically encourage the women of the asylum seekers' center to participate. At the moment there are weekly handworking groups during which some Dutch is practiced. In the spring walking groups and picnics are organized. You will be supported in this volunteer position by the project leader of #participation. A participation project that takes place at the AZC.

There is a small budget to organize the activities.

Because women from the asylum seekers' center come and go, it is important that a number of women who live in Wageningen take the lead. This is to ensure continuity and of course to make the connection with the city.

The Volunteer Center is organising the participation desk at AZC Keijenbergseweg and AZC Bosrandweg. Residents come to the desk to see which activities they can participate in. These are volunteer jobs, but also language and meeting activities. The barrier to participation is higher for women than for men. That is why we have started activities especially for women, organized by women. We are looking for someone to help Johanna and Nicole.

Working hours:

The women groups meet at the AZC on Monday afternoon (3:30 pm) or Wednesday afternoon (4 pm). You also spend time preparing the meet ups. If the working group is bigger, you can alternate the preparations and being present at the activities.

What do we ask?

Most importantly, you can connect with the women and empathize. You are understanding and you can enthuse others. You can work in a culturally sensitive way and you speak English. You are somewhat flexible in your times.

What do we offer you?

Guidance by the project leader. You can ask her your questions. Twice a year we have a nice meeting to thank you and to meet other volunteers.
