New member for the Working Group on Housing for the Elderly, Wageningen

A Working Group on Housing for the Elderly has been active in Wageningen since the end of 2021. This working group functions under the responsibility of Senioren Wageningen and operates autonomously.

The goal is the realization of more suitable and attractive housing options for the elderly in Wageningen, in existing neighborhoods and in new construction.

Community building and 'caring for one another' are guiding principles in this regard. The working group aims to introduce contemporary and innovative housing forms in Wageningen where people can continue to live, even as their health declines. The working group holds frequent consultations with, among others, aldermen, municipal project managers, the Wageningen Housing Foundation, various care institutions, Solidez, and project developers.

The working group is involved in the preparation of various construction sites. In recent years, a number of successful meetings have been organized with our constituents, whom we also regularly keep informed of news.

The working group consists of 5 members. The working group meets monthly, and the members usually participate in consultations with our stakeholders in pairs. The time required is approximately 4 hours per week.

A conversation will be held with interested parties to see if there is a mutual fit and whether the new member can be a valuable addition to our working group.
